Cara loves to sing, dance, and play with children so she's especially pleased to join the Academy kids this season! She currently teaches Fine Arts at Tradewind Elementary School for grades 1-5. Previously, she has worked as a Librarian for Amarillo ISD for grades preK-8 and also taught grades 4 and 6. She earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education from Temple University in 1997. Cara has volunteered at ALT since 1992, performed in over 30 productions, and has been honored to receive four ALTA awards including the 2005 Daniel J. Schwartz Memorial Award. She served as Guild President and on ALT's Board of Directors. She directed Ruthless!, Rounding Third, The Lonesome West, Bright Ideas, and A Woman of Independent Means at ALT's Adventure Space. She enjoys singing with her church's sanctuary choir and praise team. Cara and her husband, Brad, have a sweet daughter, Zoey, who lights up each day.
