jazz vocalists on the scene today.
Recently, TIME magazine called
Jane “The hottest thing in
jazz” and ALT audiences
will get a chance to see and hear her in the
intimate surroundings of the ALT Mainstage auditorium.
Backed by her own quartet, Ms.
Monheit will perform songs from her latest album,
Taking a Chance on Love, which
features songs from the American songbook and
romantic standards from the glamorous era of
the MGM musicals. Highlights are sure to include,
Cole Porter’s Why Can’t
You Behave?, Embraceable You
by George and Ira Gershwin and I Won’t
Dance by Jerome Kern.
