ALT’s mainstage auditorium is
currently undergoing extensive renovation to
its lighting and sound systems. This project
has been funded by a $400,000 grant designated
specifically for these systems. Work began on
Monday, June 12 and is scheduled to conclude
near the end of August. All systems will be
ready for the beginning of the Mainstage season
which opens September 21 with “Steel Magnolias.”
ALT’s electrical infrastructure
and lighting system is over 30 years old and
is experiencing many problems. The entire system
is being replaced including new wiring and circuitry,
dimming systems, lighting control and fixtures.
The sound system will be enhanced with new speakers,
a “state of the art” digital mixing
console and additional wireless microphones.
According to ALT Managing/Artistic
Director, Allen Shankles, this renovation will
“move ALT into the 21st century and allow
us to compete technically with any facility
in the area. We think ALT audiences will absolutely
notice the enhancements in future ALT productions.”
Contractors working on the project
include, Missouri Valley, Inc., Texas Scenic
Company, Randy’s Music Mart and Pro Audio,
and Denman Building Products.
For additional information regarding
this project, please contact Allen
Shankles, ALT Managing/Artistic Director.
